The black 35 Ford built by
High Gear Hot Rods has a Chevrolet LT-1 engine with 4speed AOD
transmission, a Ford 8.8 rear end with 3.55 gears, full HPC coated
Flowmaster exhaust system, Z’d and C’d chassis with 4 wheel air ride
suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, and the first ever set of Dayton’s
Classic style wheels made in large diameters on a street rod. The
body has many custom modifications intended to enhance the overall
look while keeping true to the classic styling. The paint is DuPont
Chromabase black with sand pearl metallic on the drivetrain. The
interior is done in chestnut leather by Paul Atkins. Since
completion, The truck has been driven over 20,000 miles to many
shows and has received several awards including a Top 25 at Shades of the
Past, Boyd Coddington Pro’s Pick, Classic Truck’s top 10, Custom
Classic Truck’s top 10, Rod and Custom Pro’s Pick, ESPN Street
Rodder TV’s top finalist for street rod of the year, and was
chosen as a finalist for The Goodguy’s Truck of the year award for
two consecutive years.
